NickI think you should keep the game as close to the origional as possible. I also agree that it would tend to distort the scenario stats which can be useful when you are evealuating various scenarios to play.
Areas which are not part of the board game but are part of the online version can be improved whenever you wish. Such as, I would constantly reduce the automove time on consecutive automoves in a game. If player X is automoved for the first time based on the game setting and does not return to the game I would then automove him the second time after 1 day, the thired time after 12 hours , and subsequent moves every 6 hours. This might enhance the speed of some games and the clock would reset if player X returns and makes real moves.
