League scoring system Some information about the leaguesA league is composed by a variable number of games played among 8 players who subscribed to the league. When you create a league, you can select the number of players that will play each of the game, the type of game and the version of that game you want to use in the league.
In order to play a league game you have to be an Active player. To be an active player you just need to have terminated at least 5 games in the last 90 days... not a big effort, after all.
When the 8th player subscribe to the league, the system automatically creates all the games that are part of the league and automatically subscribe all the players to those games in a way that ensure an equal distribution of games and starting situation.
Games created for the league have the exact same rules of the normal games. The only difference is that at the end of a league's game, a league score is calculated and used to rank the players in the league.
You will play against all other 7 players an equal number of times, and in each game you'll match a different set of players (in a two players game league, you'll play two games against each others players).
The following table is useful to find out how many games you'll be subscribed to, depending on the number of player in each game of the league:
Number of games per league Players per game | | Games per each player | | Total number of games |
---|
| 2 | | 14 | | 56 | 3 | | 9 | | 24 | 4 | | 16 | | 32 | 5 | | 25 | | 40 | 6 | | 18 | | 24 | 7 | | 21 | | 24 | 8 | | 16 | | 16 |
|
|
| Example: If you decide to create a new league with 5 players per game, the total number of games of the league will be 40, and each player will play 25 games among them.
In a 8 players per game league, you'll play all the 16 games, but in each of them the combination between players and pieces available will be different. |

Scoring system used in the leagues
There is a common scoring system for all the leagues in which you play
against all the other players and there is a special scoring system for games
in which you play against some players and have other players playing with you.
Basic scoring system for all vs. all games
This is the default scoring system and is used for Gonzaga, Cartagena, Vampiring and
Viva il Re! / King Me. The score depends on the number of players and is based
on the idea that the winner of each game should have a great advantage on all
the others. Scores are given based on the following table:
Number of players and scores Placement | | 2 | | 3 | | 4 | | 5 | | 6 | | 7 | | 8 |
---|
| 1st | | 2 | | 6 | | 12 | | 20 | | 30 | | 42 | | 56 | | 2nd | | 0 | | 2 | | 6 | | 12 | | 20 | | 30 | | 42 | | 3rd | | | | 0 | | 2 | | 6 | | 12 | | 20 | | 30 | | 4th | | | | | | 0 | | 2 | | 6 | | 12 | | 20 | | 5th | | | | | | | | 0 | | 2 | | 6 | | 12 | | 6th | | | | | | | | | | 0 | | 2 | | 6 | | 7th | | | | | | | | | | | | 0 | | 2 | | 8th | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 0 | |

If two or more player are ranked in the same position, all get the same nubmer of points, corresponding to the average of the positions occupied by them.
Examples: In a Cartagena game the final points are: A: 1000, B:970, C:970, D:800, E:770;
League's scores will be: A: 20, B: 9 (9 is (12+6)/2), C: 9, D: 2, E: 0.
In a Vampiring game the final points are: A: 32, B:28, C:28, D:10;
League's scores will be: A: 12, B: 4 (4 is (6+2)/2), C: 4, D: 0.

Special scoring system for Blue Max leagues
This scoring system will be used for Blue Max. This scoring system will be used for all the games that are part of a legue, even the 1 vs. 1 games.
There are 4 possible final result for a game:
Strategic victory |
One side completely destroy the other and remain the only side on the map.
Among the winning side the player who scored more points is declared the
winner player.
Note: a plane retired with honor, is considered still on the map. See the last paragraphs of the Blue Max rules for more info.
|
Tactical victory |
If, at the end of the game, there is more than one side remaining on the
board, the victory could be tactical. This happens when the number of enemies
destroyed is percentually more relevant than the unit lost.
E.g. Suppose the
leagues is based on a 4 vs. 3 scenario. If at the end of a game there are
still 3 units of side A and 2 unit of side B, then the side A achieve a
tactical victory since side B has suffered a numer of loss percentually higher
than side A. On the other side, if the game ends with only 1 unit still on
board for each side, than the winner is side B, since thay have lost onyl 66%
of their units, while side A have lost 75% of units. |
Marginal victory |
If the percentage of unit lost is the same, then we have a marginal victory
only if the total points scored by a side exceed by more than 15% the points
score by opponents. |
Draw |
If the percentage of unit lost is the same and the total points scored by a
side does not exceed the other by more than 15%, no winning side is determined,
and only personal score is assigned. |
Each player receive a number of points based on the victory type achived by
their side and on the number of enemy units destroyed or personal units lost,
based on the following schema. For each side 1 point is awarded if there is a
player who scored 15% more points of all his mate.

point.
Here are some samples:
Example 1. 3 vs. 3 Scenario: W1, W2 and W3 plays against D1, D2 and D3.
W1 shots down D1 and D2, while W2 eliminates D3. We have a strategic victory,
since all the units of the D side are destroyed. All the players of the Winning
side are awarded by 4 points for the strategic victory.
Personal scores are as follow:
W1 scores 7 points (4 for the victory type, 2 for the units destroied, 1
because he's the best player in his team),
W2 scores 5 points (4 for the victory type, 1 for the destroied unit),
W3 scores 4 points (for the victory type),
D1, D2 and D3 score all -1 point because they have lost 1 unit each and because
none of them have scored 15% more points than the others.
Example 2. 3 vs. 3 Scenario: W1, W2 and W3 plays against D1, D2 and D3.
D2 shots down W3, while W1 eliminates D1 and W2 shots down D3. The game ands
because all the remaining planes have no more fuel. W1, W2 and D2 are still on
the board: the W team achieve a tactical victory, all of them gains 3
points for this.
Personal scores are as follow:
W1 scores 5 points (3 for the victory type, 1 for the units destroied, 1
because he's the best player in his team),
W2 scores 4 points (3 for the victory type, 1 for the destroied unit),
W3 scores 2 points (3 for the victory type, -1 for the unit lost),
D2 scores 2 points (0 for the victory type, 1 for the destroied unit, 1 because
he's the best player in his team),
D1 and D3 lose 1 point each because both have lost one unit.
Example 3. 1 vs. 1 Scenario: W1 play against D1. W1 shots down D1 thus
achiving a strategic victory.
Personal scores are as follow:
W1 scores 5 points (4 for the victory type, 1 for the unit destroied),
D1 scores lose 1 point because of unit lost.
None is declared the best team player since only each team is composed by only
one player.
Example 4. 1 vs. 1 Scenario: W1 play against D1. They shot down each
other during the same turn, after a long dogfight during which W1 has fired far
more shots than D1, scoring 20% more points and achiving a marginal victory.
Personal scores are as follow:
W1 scores 1 point (1 for the victory type, 1 for the unit destroied and -1 for
the unit lost),
D1 scores 0 points (1 for the unit destroied and -1 for the unit lost).
None is declared the best team player since only each team is composed by only
one player.
