Message text That sounded bad, I really don't explain things very well.
Let me retry, being a massive sports fan. For me, a quick surrender is like:
1. Ohio State vs Michigan this weekend, Michigan scores after 3 minutes, Ohio State walks off the field. Non sports fans would be thrilled of course.
2. I go for softball night, we score the first run, other team quits.
3. I train 6 months for a boxing match, hit the other guy once, and, he quits. No mas.
4. It's bowling night. I drive to the alley, throw a strike during practice, and, the other team leaves. I just wasted all the time!
That's all I was trying to say. All of the above would ruin my enjoyment. Same for a game.
Personally, when getting demolished, I love it as generrally, I learn something, and, I personally don't quit but I do understand a hopeless situation. I just think there is a one in a billion chance I will win and it could be my lucky day. Delusional of course!
I understand, for semit hopeless causes, others will view it as a waste of their time, and I sort of get that, though it's not me.
BUT, all of that is different than quitting a larger scenario after a few moves! Or, people joining multi player games and quitting constantly, ruining it for the team. Can't stop it I suppose, so, just whining.
Which brings us back to points, I like points, they would be more useful in a campaign game. Still, it's an ok at best measure of who is winning. For what that is worth to you. I would just like to see an improvement whereby surrendering = points. If you are not a fan of points, then, you wouldn't mind the change! |
