I disagree. One failure shouldnt discourage. I think that the best scoring (that reflect also collective efforts) system is in Blue Max: Leagues, maybe something similar for WSIM? I know that webmasters have more impoetant things, its just a long term proposition for "to do" list.

When WS&IM is pushed to the main site there will be leagues (already implemented aparently).

I think we all would be better served if we worked more on our tactical thinking and execution rather than quibbling over mere points.
Maybe the best situation is to get rid of the Stat table that ranks us based on "points per game"?

In the end, the winning side in the WS&IM boardgame is the side that scores more points, points being scored for surrendered ships only.
If I, or my compatriots and I, manage to sail to a 201 to 200 point victory, then we have won and each deserve a victory for our efforts regardless of which ship shot whom when, etc, etc.

If we want to quibble, we could quibble about how the points are assigned to the individual ships in the various scenarios, some scenarios are a bit out of whack with the system provided in the WS&IM board game's manual. But truely, we are wasting our time with such marginally relevant efforts...
