The issue of Surrender Leave the button there. Serious players will not use it unless something come up in real life and they need to get the games done quickly. All serious players that I have handled on YouPlay will either propose a "timed out" or turn their ships so the opponent can rake them easily. The less serious players tend to surrender (especially in 1 vs 1 leagues) when the going is against them. Let them do so and suffer under the new rule. The same people will surrender in team vs team league games as well. Nothing anyone can do really. Then there are these "accidental" players who join the WSIM leagues by mistake. Frequently they are new players to the site and decide to join every single Blue Max league there are but accidentally join the WSIM as well. Since they are no Unjoin button, they are stuck. Let them surrender instead of having the rest of us wait for the automoves.
I wasn't serious about removing the surrender button Yes, I agree with your reasoning there. I'll change the surrender to -1 and make other modifications once we get some more opinions on the scoring system.

Testing league scoring in real action [...] Should we make public announcements over in the main site about these beta leagues?[...]
I'll talk with Nick and let you know Meanwhile, it seems the info has leaked out to the general public even without the announcement http://www.youplay.it/play/forum_showmessage.asp?msgid=83406 |
