Message text For (attempted) clarity, here is what I take one interpretation of the rules to be, possibly the one that is actually implemented??
# Melee resolution
The resolution of melees is done in the following steps.
1. __OBP vs OBP__ For any two opposing ships that have attacked each other with OBPs, the melee between those two OBPs are resolved. If the melee is not won by either of them, those OBPs take no part in any further melee, and are considered to stay on their respective ships. If an OBP wins its melee, it continues to attack with all remaining crew squares in stage 2, while the loosing OBP takes no further part in any melees.
2. __OBP vs DPT__ For any ship attacked by at least one OBP after Step 1, the melee between the (possibly empty) DPT of that ship and all OBPs attacking that ship is resolved as one melee, with the Total Melee Strenghts of the attacking OBPs added together. If the OBPs win, the ship surrenders and all remaining crew squares of the defending ship are imprisoned. In that case, the OBPs transfer to the surrendered ship as prize crew. If the OBPs do not win, the defending ship does not surrender, and all parties stay on their respectice ships.
