| | Message text I have been playing BM on this site for over 15 years now and got a lot of enjoyment out of the game. In that time I have built up friendly rivalry with so many great pilots, some of whom have been around on this site longer than me. Friendly games are okay but leagues have always been the lifeblood of the game. Recently, the numbers signing up for leagues has dropped considerably and it seems most leagues (possibly 90%) are getting auto cancelled for lack of players.
My last league finished a month ago and although signing up for several others, they have all timed out for lack of players. I have just tried to create a league to stimulate interest and found I am now classed as an inactive player and can’t even create leagues anymore.
This is clearly a difficult time for the site and wondered whether a few basic changes might help whilst we try and build up interest again in this great game.
For a start we could increase the time allowed for a league to recruit players. A few of the leagues I have signed up for were only a couple of players short before they were auto deleted.
Perhaps we could also change some of the restrictions on so called in-active players. They were designed for a period where it was possible to get plenty of games in.
My main suggestion though is we look at mini-league format with say 4 players. I have to confess that I have no idea whether this is easy to set up. The basic idea is that we would use existing 2 and 4 player scenarios but just have 4 players in the league. I think this could provide a vital lifeline that could stimulate interest back into the game.
What do others think?
