A pulldown menu would be the easiest way to fix it, I think. Tell a ship what to fire at in the movement determination action. If another ship moves closer, the order will be overridden. If no other ship moves closer, the ship fires at the determined target. That wouldn't need another step in between moves.
That makes sense. It might be a lot easier to do that than to make the computer decide when random targeting is warranted, and then to properly distribute the random fire. |
