You can not select your target. The program does that. If there are more than one possible target, it randomly picks one of them. Changing your position might cause the program to recalculate the targets. Moving one space closer would put you in hull firing range. If you look at the HIT DETERMINATION TABLE (HDT), you will see that you are going to get some hits other than hull. Especially the Royal George will do some damage.
