That's good for me. Tallying the averages of surviving pilots certainy adds a different dimension. I couldn't see how you could improve on just tallying kills and killed, but I'm not all that perceptive 
I'm going to apply this system to Flying Misfits games (unless a better is suggested).
One question;
Do you tally the averages of only those that are left on the map, those left and those who retired honourably or those left and all who retired. And what about shotdown where there are questions of survival?
