Message text | The way it worked is that by spray painting the hex while it is on the mat, you get a bit of outline painted onto the mat. By only spraying one half, or a little more, you don't over do the painting. The hexes are the ghosted areas of the mat, which have over-spray from neighboring hexes in them. By using a few different camouflage colors, the mat still looked some what like a field, instead of being a glaring HEX mat. When you spray the edge of the hex, that makes a crisp line on the mat which fades away from that edge. The faded spray smooths out the look, while the hard edges make it easy for the eye to tell where the hexes are. |
