Anchored ships drifting is definitely a 'bug' that needs to be corrected. It's next on the list. The real problem is that only a few scenarios should allow anchoring at all. But thats a different can of worms.
Electro Speaking of (minor) things to fix, would it be hard to fix that certain effects of fire take effect before the ship that is hit fires back? This is a little bit from memory, but if ships A and B fire at each other in the same round, say A first (i.e. lower down in the log), and B strikes its colors, than B still fires back in that round. As it should, since this is supposed to be simultaneous. But for certain effects, all critical hits, I think, such as crew morale, anchor cable cut.., this seems to come into effect immediately, affecting the fire from B in the same round. I'm sure it could be done. But I'm pretty sure all ships fire simultaneously. Which in my mind means that effects occur after the shots arrive at the ship, which is just after the simultaneous fire. Do you see something in the rules that says differently? --- Message edited by Electro No, that is what I meant, according to the rules the fire is simultaneous, as you say. But it does not quite seem to always work that way here, I think I have seen, for instance, ships not getting the anchor modifier they should get when firing in the same turn that the cable got shot off. Same with crew quality changes, I think? Ah, OK. The anchor modifier not being applied is a bug then. Or at the least, we should be consistent. |
