The rules do not talk about "abandoned ships", they only talk about ships losing their last crew unit: they say that without crew, ships cannot move/fire, until some more crew is put on board.
They do not lose owner, they are simply ships without crew.

Let's say that the crewless ship is called C.
If A and B are from the same coalition of C, C mantains its original owner, using crew from A and B.
If A or B is from a different coalition, according to rules his transfer will NOT take effect. You can only transfer to enemy ships which have surrendered - a crewless ship* is not a surrendered ship, so you must conquer it by OBP.
* Note: a crewless ship can *also* be surrendered, but let's say that in our case C is just without crew and has not surrendered when we play the transfer phase.
In our case, I could send an TBP, but the enemy could send an OBP. That seems to be illogical why one party should be allowed to attack while the other is only allowed to transfer to an empty ship.
I understand that it is illogical, but if you think about it, then why you can't transfer 100 men to a 1-crew-only ship and help it to fight an incoming enemy OBP?
You can't do it because the rules don't want you to have crew move to a friendly ship and fight on the same turn.
It's the same "un-logic", but that's how WS&IM is
