And, we don't call 'em swamps; it's glades, slough, or savannahs (we know what you mean, though0. I live on the north fork of the savannahs (fresh water), which is separated by less than half a mile from the Indian River Lagoon (salt water) by US1 and the railroad, which lie along the top of the Florida East Coast sand ridge running two miles east of my place.
The Florida Navy has suffered casualties from el Vomito, so we're taking the summer off. The old-timers with money go to North Carolina for the summer, 'cuz it can get brutally hot. |
