In a number of games I have noticed that I lose my last fuel - it just disappears. I thought I had just miscalculated and made a mistake, but now I know I haven't.

Nope, the game took four fuel for the previous three fuel manoeuvre and left me a sitting duck.
No fair - I cry.
Definite bug - happens a lot. Please fix it.
Yes I know you cannot go from a speed 3 to speed 1 as would have been the case in this game, but it happens when I could have used it as well when I had been at speed 2.

Best I can tell; on the move he shot you down and ended the game, one of his hits took out your last engine box and when you loose your last engine box all your remaining fuel goes as well.
