JohnnyM3453 has smoke if you mouse over his plane, but the graphics without the mousover don't display the smoke. I presume that's because there are two planes in the hex.

I see smoke, and no other plane in the same hex.

I also figure that Becks exited one of the non-home sides, so the answer to the in-game bug question is "no". He gained 6 points for flying in 6 turns, got 4 points for the one shot he took, and lost half his points for a non-home exit.
