Greetings Sir... Flyboys was realeased here in the States and I enjoyed it. As a military officer and a historian, I can be quite brutal in military movies but Flyboys hit a good medium. It was historical without being a documentary, that is there were plenty of historical storylines in the script. It was wonderful to see so many replica W.W. I aircraft flying and/or puttering around the airdrome...

GOOD : Uniforms, airfield set, aircraft (most were B+ or better replicas), the "feel" of flying then and the deadlyness of the first air war... Good story line, even the wives can enjoy the film... There was no nudity or gratuitus rape scenes so I can let my daughter see it. (a plus in todays movies)

BAD: Every German plane (fighters) were NOT Fokker Dr-I's ! ha ha AND if it was a flight of Fokker triplanes, 99% of them would NOT be all RED! ha I think this was to help the average movie goer who doesnt have a degree in military history or has had the W.W.I aero infatuation (all should have it though) ha The average bloke on the street knows "Red Baron" and Red Triplane = Germans... Now just because I understand this call by the producer etc, doesnt mean I like it. If you go to all that trouble with computer generated air combat, how about Albatros fighter, or Pfalz's? With the amazing color schemes of the Flying Circus, it would have been grand! I enjoyed the Zepplin scene but it was cheesy... The Laf. Esc. never attacked a Zep, espec. in DAYLIGHT and LOW altitude... I think they should have done this scene as it was, an attack on the Zep. hangers or a night scene, more dramatic when the Zep explodes.

I have not enjoyed W.W.I flying scenes so much since "The Great Waldo Pepper" or post W.W.I scenes in "The High Road to China".
