I was just faced with this as a right rudder jam was going to force me off the board on the third turn, 
because I didn't have a 1R1 on my plane. By leaving the plane in automove on the third turn it would have the chance to pick a move that would save me. However, I feel that this is cheating and instead flew off the wrong map edge.
