They probably will take more than one turn, since each ungrapple attempt is tried separately. But it's possible to throw 2 ones or twos (what it takes to grapple or ungrapple) on the same turn.
No, they ungrapple immediately.
Every turn, you can roll a dice to ungrapple each grapple: in the case of friendly ships it always succedes so you are immediately free.
