Just out of curiosity, what's the point for small 10x10 and especially 8x8 maps??
I never realized that the air battles of wwI were forced on small confined areas?
If you guys have played -the real Blue Max- table top game, you'll know that the map area is always same.
Sorry guys, but I find it ridiculous that one is to set up a scenario on 8x8 board with sopwith snipe, or siemens schuckert D.IV -versus- s.e.5.a or spad XIII... Would, really, pilots of those speedy, but lumbering planes be so stupid that they would whack their head in cement and try out-maneuver those clearly superior dogfighters?
I wonder if those smaller maps would be entirely removed?
This is no by any mean an attack against anybody, nor I try start flame war here. But a mere wondering and observation!
Thanks!
As other posters have noted, different sized maps make for different games. While I personally prefer, and generally play, larger maps and scenarios, an occasional smaller map game is an interesting change of pace.
The bottom line is, no one's forced to sign up for scenarios they wouldn't enjoy playing. If you don't like any of the scenarios awaiting pilots, nothing's stopping you from creating one or more to suit your own interests and preferences. The more the merrier.
