Complete news list News June 1st 2025: On New Hardware Hello everyone,
I'm happy to announce that I've finally migrated the You Play It virtual machine to a new server host. I spoke about this some time ago and have finally completed the task. There were a number of other items to be migrated, and I fought a bad motherboard for a bit before finally just replacing it. You Play It was the last thing to be migrated so I can finally shutoff that beast of a server from 2012. It was a power hog!
I will monitor this closely over the next week or so, but I don't expect any issues.

News May 15th 2024: Wind shifts will not reverse direction I updated the code to stop the wind reversals that would happen from time to time. According to DaRulz, when a wind shift is to occur, one die is rolled and on a 1, the wind would shift back to the original direction at the beginning of the game. This could sometimes cause the wind to shift radically.
I've changed a 1 to be the same as 2, no change.
Let me know if you disagree and we can discuss, but I think it's a tiny bit more realistic to only let the wind shift one or two compass points.

News April 26th 2024: Fully Anchored Ships Will Not Drift Tested a few things over in the Beta site and they seem to work. I've modified Drifting so that Fully Anchored ships will no longer drift. Ships anchored only by the bow or stern will still drift.
Lets play with this and see how it works in real games. LET ME KNOW if you like it or not!
