June 30th 2023: SSL is here.
Added SSL certs to the server and main site page. Some code still has some non https refers, but that's a minor problem to fix.
Good news here is that major search engines like google will start tracking us again, and your browser won't claim we're about to cause the fall of humanity anymore.

May 5th 2023: SSL is Coming...
So, in an attempt to join the 21st century, I'm adding SSL to the site. Because of complications that I won't go into, the first thing you will notice is that www.youplay.it will start redirecting automatically to www.youplayit.net. Everything should work the same, it's just a header change.
PLEASE SEND ME FEEDBACK ON FACEBOOK IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS.
I've checked and all should be well, but I'll give it a week or so and once I'm assured there is nothing hardcoded, then I'll add the SSL certificate and instead of http, we'll get https encryption and google and other sites will stop shaming me.

April 13th 2023: Not a cloud in sight.
Things seem to be running pretty well right now. I see some new players and I'm having a great time, mostly in WS&IM.
I've heard from a few of you on some adjustments you'd like. I should have more time starting in the summer. Please keep binging site and game tweaks to me. I don't know if I'll ever totally rebuild this site or not, so nothing major, but I will keep hosting and maintaining as long as you all want to play.
In the meantime, I'll see you out there.

January 1st 2023: Happy New Year
A kinda cool thing happened on the server today. Some donations came in as usual this time of year (not necessary, but thank you!). When I tried to add the 2023 donation badge to those users, the database threw an error. A little digging led me to the field called DonationYears which was only coded for 20 years of donations. So, I added another 30 years of space to the field.
(well, I thought it was cool)
You Play It has been around for a while! I'll keep running it as long as you keep playing!
