January 19th 2021: WS&IM Beta Rules Going Live this Weekend!!!
We've done some testing and are ready to bring the Beta Rules live. This will add an 'Advanced' mode to your games. 'Advanced' mode adds Variable Winds, Full Sails, and Ammo Types. Also include are a number of bug fixes.
A big Thank You to BlueDragon!!!
All current games should still work, although there might be an unforeseen glitch. Contrary to my previous post, we will not be migrating current games from the Beta site to live. The Beta site will continue to run, but I'm going to disable new game creation (for now). Please do report any issues in the forums, on facebook, or by emailing webmaster@youplay.it.
Also...
Nick has been busy converting old code to more modern C#, as well as messing around with 3D modeling for Bluemax. See the Facebook page for more information.
Bludedragon has been working on creating a better AI system for the games (as this is his expertise).
We will also be bringing the Forum Layout from Beta live soon.

January 12th 2021: WS&IM Beta Going Live!
In about two weeks we're going to bring the WS&IM site to the live site! Blue Dragon has been working hard to work out all the known bugs and work on a migration plan. All games in play on the Beta site will be migrated to the live site and the Beta site will be shut off. Current games on the live site will still exist, but may have a few glitches. Most will be minor, but a major glitch will be that all ships will fire as if they have double the amount of guns! (It's either this, or delete all current games.)
I'll put out another post with a more precise time as we get closer to go-live.

December 19th 2020: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Big News!
I have some great news to share with everyone. Today I met online with Nick and Emilio (BlueDragon). I've been emailing back and forth with them for the past month or so and both are interested in modernizing You Play It. Nick is the one who reached out first.
In our meeting today we outlined a number of plans to upgrade the site and modernize the games. I've no specific details to share yet, and you should keep firmly in mind that we've no timelines in mind. This is a project done for the fun of it.
Our focus will be on Gonzaga, BlueMax, and WS&IM. The Other games will follow in time. We spoke about many things, like bringing the beta site to live, upgrading code to something modern, and many many enhancements to BlueMax. Nick already has much of the Gonzaga code converted away from Java. Emilio works in AI research and we spoke at length about intelligent bots to play against. Underlying everything is a more modern interface. Also up for discussion was bringing 3D to BlueMax for elevations.
More news will come in the new year. Stay tuned!
