Look at it the other way...your a midshipman...all your comrades on other ships are taking the fight to the ennemy...u know..from your position u can get several broadsides and really hurt the ennemy...Do u surrender? HELL NO! Keep firing!!
Surrender is a very last resort...at least in my book
