Hello everyone,
we have a new scenario here on Beta:
Scenario 23 -- Constitution vs. Cyane and Levant
This scenario comes from the original rulebook and it has been "translated" for Youplay by Lufbery.

Lufbery will also translate other scenarios from the rulebook in the future (actually he has already sent me another three, but they need some modifications before uploading).

Enjoy!

Serious balancing issues when playing in Advanced rules. I have played 2 sets (4 games) with Andy (Ogrebait2) and Bill (Longneck)

  • Constitution is too strong, its like sending sub chasers against a cruiser.
  • The British needs to have a wind advantage so they can close in on turn 1 effectively
  • The British ships have no enough crew to even bother with boarding actions. Then they cannot get close enough without getting blasted to splinters.

  • I agree. It's hopeless for the British. If they manage to get close enough to fire they're in danger of being swallowed whole by boarding parties.

Much appreciation to Lufbery. It looks like it's set up right, but it's just unwinnable with Advanced rules. Has anyone played it with Simplified or Basic rules?

Ditto. Hopelessly unbalanced under any set of rules. Brits need more firepower, crews, and/or ships.
