I agree, original wind rules do not look very good. Maybe we could try to define better house rules for wind and then let people decide which "type of wind" they want in their games: No Wind Original Wind Rules House Wind Rules Our house rules could follow your suggestions of a real wind being a bit more predictable (changing direction gradually, developing a storm slowly or with some forewarning) but still variable (sudden gusts and change of intensities within a narrow range).
