| | Message text The wind does not resemble planet earth. The wind in the game is very random in direction and intensity and feels most unrealistic. I'm sure this is the original rules but they weren't well considered.
Real wind has gusts - it changes in velocity a bit at a "noisy" level, less so out on the open sea where these battles are taking place. A slight variation in wind levels within a narrow range would be natural in some cases.
Direction tends to vary at a slower pace. Over the course of a day from morning until night the wind will change - if near land perhaps reversing direction. Definitely a storm could brew up during the course of a day. But it would be a steady increase in wind all day.
Also no one would be caught by surprise. The coming of a storm is something that would be felt and seen long before it arrived.
