This would give multiple choices for players and still allow the computer to handle the details. All it would take is pull down box at the top of your ship list and just call different subroutines based on that selection.

That way you don't get into a guessing game as to who will move closest etc.


This would be a compromise solution to be sure, still not YOU pick the target, but, no new phase needed either. I would be against adding yet another phase, as the new game not quite released yet, almost slows down due to grappling! Imagine yet another phase.

I actually LIKE your idea of criteria selection, I think that would be a great compromise and still give most people what they want. You should suggest that in another section, probably not rules, and the whys of it.

If you get into the guessing game (where exact target picked in advance) , as your opponent, you can trust I will use that to my advantage! Which would defeat the purpose of course. Your thoughts get around that.
