derekticusits more of a result of the weakness of a hex based movement system...
a one hex rake is pretty hard to achieve...but it is possible...you simply have to position your ship to be outside the broadside arcs of the target ship
Interesting, because in the board game they allow for the range 1 rake when your vessel can still be shot at by your opponent. I'll take it as a designed feature rather than a bug.
