Hello everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on what's going on behind the scenes.
I will probably be busy the whole year so the progress won't be very fast - however, here's the 3 main things I'm working on:

1) New Interface
I've begun doing some work on the new interface several weeks ago: I was trying to create some new icons/graphics but then I realized that as I'm not particularly good at graphics, that was just taking me too much time. So I've decided to focus myself only on the code that will be behind the new interface: for example, the ability to select and move multiple ships at once.
So the new interface will be at first only a big table with all the numbers describing your ships' characteristics and statuses and a few buttons on top to input your commands.
After we have debugged this first new movement input window, I will ask you suggestions on how to turn the table into something graphically nicer.

2) Advanced Firing rules (Bow/Stern)
As you know, the log already states (often wrongly) when a ship is firing its Stern or Bow section.
However, all ships have still only a whole section so regardless of what the logs says, they always fire with Full Guns.
I have already wrote "half" of the code needed to divide guns into two sections but the computer I was working on is not where I'm living now and it also underwent an operating system reinstall - so I have to set up my "working space" again. So it will still take some time before I can finally complete this Advanced Firing rules.

3) Scenario Editor
I'm developing a WSIM Scenario Editor: it's an external java program that people who want to create scenarios can run on their computer. It has a graphical map and a list of ships to choose from (the ones in the "Design your own scenario" section of the manual). You can of course choose crew quality, ships positions and name, wind parameters, divide ships into groups for Commander games and also give a title and a description to your scenario.
After creating a scenario, it can be saved into a "wsim file" and then emailed to me.
From that file, I can easily put the scenario online on Beta.
The editor is almost complete so if any of you feels like creating a scenario (and testing this editor), let me know

Meanwhile, thanks for the support and keep reporting bugs
