Many months ago, while still working on the Basic version, Nick told me that one of the goals in WS&IM ToDoList was a better interface to control the many ships scenarios. At that time, the priority was to fix the Basic version, so working on a new interface was postponed.

Now, with the addition of so many additional controls/informations for the Advanced version, the current interface is reaching its limits, so it's time to think about a new one.

One of the key ideas for the new interface is to make many-ships management easier: one of the problems when you have many ships under your control is that you can have a quite long control window and many ships scattered around an equally long (and large) sea map so it's often hard to find the ship associated with each part of the control window, especially when multiple ships have the same (or similar) 3-letters abbreviation.

I have yet to talk with Nick about how the new interface might look like and you are all very welcome to write your suggestions

The current list isn't too bad with a few ships, from what I hear in the other posts, it's the length. Thats the killer for me. So why not just start using two columns at a certain point, say at 6 ships? End up with a 2X3 list in that case.

Add a header, or footer, section to the list with options to apply to all ships CHECKed in the list. When applied, those options are colored changed on those ships so you know you did something. Then, you can change some other options and apply them to other CHECKed ships. Of course you can reset all ships options or just some.

A tiny button next to each ship that might 'locate' that ship somehow.

FYI: Everything looks very good on my Ipad2, EE Transformer, and Droid Incredible. I'll try to do a side by side comparison this week if I get a chance.I'm expecting a HP Touchpad this week, I'll include that.

The only issue I've ever encountered is dragging the Input List. But sometimes I gloss over something because its trivial to me.
