Maybe stackable windows to group ships which all will reiceive the same set of orders?
Yes, I agree that we should have something to give orders to multiple ships at the same time. In the other thread, you suggested to add a "master control" to move all the ships at the same time. How about having only one set of controls and then being able to choose to which ships it applies? I made an image to show how it could be: http://www.youplay.it/beta/play/images/new_interface_000.png (yeah, it doesn't look good, it's just an example )
The controls are on top, while you have the usual list of your ships below, but ships only display their status and have no personal controls. You can select the ships you want to move by clicking on any part of their boxes. In the example, Solitaire and L'Orient have a different color on their name because they are currently selected. If you click the "forward" order, both ships will go forward. Clicking again on the ship de-selects it.
Clicking on a ship on the map will also cause the ship to be selected in the control window. This could be of help when you have lots of ships and you don't want to search through names.
EDIT: I forgot to say that those red/green squares on the ship status could replace the current "Move/Turn" info. Green squares could indicate how many moves / turns you have at your disposal, when you move / turn, they progressively become red. So in the image it would mean that all ships have a total 7 moves and 7 turns (!?! ) but they have already used 3 moves and 3 turns.
