Nobody should have such a percentage. You guys are experienced enough to know how to play. Of course, this upwind Gibraltar scenario is still relatively new, and it took a while to figure out a legitimate approach to playing it. Better luck in Round 3, just not against us! I'n pulling for ya! North Atlantic Warriors---Underachievers. I expected them to have a much better record than that showing to date, but being in the same League as Armada Geddon is probably intimidating. Fear a determinant factor, or the psychological edge? Mac's Raiders---The hard luck bears. Been through two unreliable teammates, but managing to maintain an even average despite that. Perhaps their newest addition, Streaker, will provide the necessary stability once he's played a bit. Just not against us, please. You guys play us tough as it is. Bright Spots: All of the teams, for bearing with this inaugural multi-player tournament. Mark and I don't know how Nick will implement League play online, but regardless it will not affect this one. Everyone has exhibited great patience, and hopefully experienced the fun it was meant to be. The Cats are especially to be complimented for not losing hope and bailing out, simply because of their record. Every league has a NY Mets or Washing Nationals that can't get out of the cellar, regardless, but they continue to march on, like Xenophon's March to the Sea. One point: I hope I'm not the only one to notice the disparity in the records after the first round. Every team's record should have equalled 8 after the first round. Team Captains, make certain that all of your games are accounted for. If the number is incorrect, contact Mark to have a new, official, game generated. Overall, though, this event has been going very smooth for the ambition of its intent. A big Thank You to all players! Round 3 will begin next week, but incrementally. Hopefully, any outstanding games can be caught up with during this reduced playing schedule. We're only at the end of the first quarter, so there's still a lot of play ahead for all of us. If everyone is comfortable with their personal playing schedule, we should be close to the end of the TCC by the end of the year. Once again, Kudos to Mac's team for overcoming their adversities, and getting so well caught up. Our two games are close to ending, and should be completed by the weekend. I, for one, certainly can't wait to begin Round 3, hopefully with the wind on our quarter. Only Mark knows for sure. Johnny "Bloody John" B. Captain, Esq., NAACP, AARP, AA, MA, EBS, AFLCIO, DNC, USA, etc., etc., The Rum Runners / Scourge of the American Seas A couple notes, one game is still active from the first round. Powder Monkeys and the Great White Groghards are almost, but not quite done. As to league play on the main site. I've played Blue Max leagues and they do not allow for teams to stick together. They play like, and were the insperation for, a few tournaments I ran a year ago. Each player plays a bunch of games using different ships and different team mates from the chosen scenario. Some of you might be disappointed in the team mate thing. The closest thing to team in Blue Max is squadron. There are a fair amount of those in the main site. Whenever there are squadron match ups; somebody has to create the password games manually. The league system is entirely different. Maybe Johnny can have a chat with Nick and Alex to see whether an alternate system can be put in place. Wow! I had no idea that the possibilities of League play could be so different. The idea of not being able to maintain a team is anethema to me, and is un-American! Naturally, my concept is similar to any other sporting or gaming activity. Thanks for the info on the BM leagues, Mark and Hubert. I think I will enter into conversation with Nick about this. I'm assuming of course that the majority of participants in the TCC favor the integral Team concept. I hope its not too late, but we haven't seen the Basic entered into the main site yet, so there were probably a few last minute burps. I'll keep in touch with my findings. Later. Just following my own thread here to address the responses previously posted: It almost seems that the way this TCC is currently working is actually better than that of the Blue Max league concept. I like Mikes idea of the database thing, but while I know a little bit of everything, I know a whole lot of nothin'. I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to establish such a system.Maybe Mark has more knowledge; regardless, that's what you Beta guys are here for. After all, we're basically a team unto ourselves, and should all lend our extpertise. The ideal system would allow for easy interface between teams, automatic standings determinations, and basically cover most of the bookkeeping chores within the WSIM game system. OR, a few more dedicated GMs to be responsible for separate Leagues under their auspices. When first begun, I had hoped for a larger turnout. As it's transpired, this (8 teams) has been the perfect size for relatively easy management, and working out formalities and scheduling. Mark had the task of scheduling and record-keeping, and I handled personnel problems. I'm happy with the results, and I like to think the rest of you are as well. Only the rate of player movement has been the issue, but that cannot be helped. Realistically, this TCC won't end until probably next yeat. I envision the beginning of TCC II following that, and I can imagine that now that we have this working fairly well, the turnout will be much higher. I only regret that there cannot be accomodations for newer teams wishing to sign up. Also, much could happen with the system design between then, and now. No matter, the Team concept must remain in some form, and if what is presented to us by the Developers doesn't allow for such, I will still try to get another TCC in gear. What I hear about the BM version sounds somewhat scary, based on your comments. But I scare easy---I'm old and frail, you young whipersnappers... gotta play music with a bunch of bikers and raise hell tomorrow though, if they'll let me leave the nursing home! Look, your comments are supportive, and positive. Together we'll find a way to keep it working. For now, let's keep up the "friendly" competition, work through the playoffs (still to be determined by Mark and myself), and crown Neptune's favorite sons as the Princes of the Sea. Then, we'll start a new season! We'll be happy to defend our title! Johnny "Bloody John" B... Captain The Rampaging Rum Runners
