Message text I thought a ship must fire at the closest target
"The ship being fired upon must be the closest in number of hexes to the firing ship of all ships in the field of fire." -from game rules
"The second most important tactical consideration to know is that a ship MUST fire at the closest enemy ship." -from newbie guide
From above it would seem some other rule or effect is at work here, I cannot figure what. I am probably missing some point, but have no idea what. Maybe something to do with what side is loaded, but I dont think he engaged the closer ship in previous turns either.
Anybody?
