You and you alone should decide whether the WSIM on this site is worth playing, not anybody else. People like me who can no longer get face to face gaming have no problem with this site.

If you want to play face-to-face, show up at World Boardgaming Championships in August 2011! Or invite me over. Or come to Seattle! I have 1/1200 scale miniatures we can use.
In case you think you are too old for WBC, I am 50 and most of the folks there look older than myself.
It has been a pleasure playing Mark "Sir Lindsley" face-to-face at the WBC, and again, he is in his 60s, I believe.
