when i play a DVII i normally tend to get to the firefight the sooner possible. maybe starting with low fuel manouvers but heading rigth to the point.
(and, i must admit, sometimes when flying against a DVII i tend to postpone the fight in order to get a possible advantage in the second part of the game.
