In one league, a player surrendered in two games with 2 bad results for my team:
1- The opponent split in two, we chased one side and the player surrendered (he had zero points anyway), preventing us from winning since we were almost not damaged and sure to win. We were never able to turn and get the other ships.
2- The facing ship surrendered (he had zero points here also). They were all stuck together, not able to move. By doing that, we could not fire on the hiden ships anymore and end up loosing.
The two above scenarios ended up as looses for my team because a player that surrender cannot be fired upon and he looses only his points (which were already at zero).
Suggestions:
1-Do not remove the player`s points (like in today`s rule), but give the point to the opponent as if the ship(s) was(were) captured. This will prevent a lot of players to do it, or at least thinking about it.
2-Do not allow surrendering for leagues.
In both above scenarios, the player had no points and nothing to loose by surrendering, but it scrapped the games for my team.
