Well, it is definitely down for me. So, I would presume that part is yes. Not sure about the other question though. I would think that email would SAVE system resources. As I no longer get this email to move, tat means I have to stay logged in (or I choose to) to see when I have a move to make. That in turn means more resources used. Previously, I would log off and wait for an email.
Email via YPI is also very important if the "Squadrons" get restarted so that individual players can be reminded of games or tourneys they need to join.
