The game is played on a points system.
In that format it would be like saying that 2 teams play a game of soccer, A & B. Team A scores 2 goals to 1 over team B. The goalscorers for team A leave the game through injury and team B wins 1-0? I think not
Oh I fully realize how the scoring system works and have no problem with it (although maybe a 5/10pt bonus for anyone still flying at the end of the game would seem to make sense), it's just I could picture myself landing back at the airfield and being asked how the sortie went and having to reply "Went well we shot down the enemy, Wraith didn't make it but tell his wife and family he beat me by a point
I fully understand your sentiment and I have always been a big fan of Blue Max being a team game as far as retaining the scoring only for determining the winner were at least one plane of each side is still airbourne at the end (i.e. last man standing).
