That was exactly the point of my post, I wanted to clarify that we DON'T communicate at all in Blue Max and only in the WSIM game. I took your comments in the manner that you had intended, not as an accusation of any wrong doing.
I mentioned that here at home we do allow some limited communication in the Blue Max game, but we don't do it here on the site as there is no accepted mechanism for it.
Further, I would LIKE to see a system implemented where pilots could communicate in a limited fashion, essentially providing tailing information to their squadron mates, but and its a big but, there has to be an accounting for lines of sight and situational awareness. We created a table with modifiers for distance, speed and combat position, a successful die roll would allow the squadron leader or wingman to communicate with the pilot of that aircraft and provide him tailing information. Within our group we are quite satisfied with the results and it does add a somewhat realistic element to the games.
