I heard at first you can't get jammed on a 0 or 1 burst but that has been proven wrong. So if there is question I won't use a long burst. I gotta say it's hard to stay away from them though.
Tomski do have a point here. Long burst in my opinion. Only usable in two condition.
1. You are very sure that you will give your opp an 10+ C.V. hit (1 hex, no deflection, tailed etc)
2. You really really need luck coz your plane is heavily damaged or you are in a hit-go plane.
The +1/+2 bonus didn't help much. An extra B/R didn't worth the possibility of jam.
But at the very last point, it is a very subjective topic. I know some ACE use only long burst and they are damn lucky in every shoot
