the solution of deleting games older that 365 days allow us to handle the site and all the backoffice tasks (maintenance, index optimization, backup, etc. etc.) with a relative small database that fits on the hard disks of our server and it is relatively easy to move to another PC one in a while in case of disaster.
Currently the size of the database is 2.7GB, but we do not store all the data we wish, so it will grow a bit (considering the rate of games played constant).
I know that deleting old games is a pity, but we simply cannot handle it.
