Message text I think the points system for league games has a problem which can be solved quite easily. The problem is with marginal victories in games in which there is an uneven number of players.
I'm in a 2vs1 league (Albatros DIII vs Nieuppy+Spad). Unless there is a shot down plane (and there often isn't one), the allies are 100% sure of scoring a marginal victory, because they score 1 point/round just for being alive. Even though all players play both sides an even number of times, this means that the system does not really take into account quality of play in marginal-victory games.
I propose that, at the end of the game, for marginal victory purposes, each plane's score is equal to the points it makes minus the number of rounds played. For example, if at the end of a 20-rounds game
Albatros D.III: 35 points
Spad: 29 points
Nieuppy: 18 points
with the current rules the allies score 47 points, the German scores 35 points, and the allies score a marginal win.
My proposal is to subtract the number of rounds:
Albatros D.III: 35 points - 20 rounds = 15 points
Spad: 29 points - 20 rounds = 9 points
Nieuppy: 18 points - 20 rounds = -2 points
and now the German scores a marginal victory (15-7), which seems fairer in this case. Notice that the Nieuppy has scored negative points because it retired early from the game and/or from the wrong side.
