The plane was tailing me and my observer shot at it the previous turn, then he switched to one that wasn't tailing, so I was concerned that the one tailing would have a better chance to be near me next go, yet my observer would have swapped targets and lost the fired at last turn bonus.
Dodged the tail this time, so more an academic thing.
