I was also socked as I see the player involved in this situation. Though I don't know Rumpler and Herbalstadt in Person. But from my experience with their fight, they are quite a fair players.
May be as HS said, if his joke/comment end with some smiley will makes his statement milder 
It reminds me of the famous 'Zidane Head attack' in World Cup final. Since BM is an International site (HS is from US, templar from FR and me from CN, but the server is in IT!!). We should always bear in my mind of our wording.
