Having played several such, the problem with plotting moves in air games which allow hex by hex or square by square movement is, the tediousness and hassle of calculating and recording these correctly.

Computerized air games, like Over the Reich and Achtung Spitefire, removed all that hassle and were massive improvements over the board game Airforce on which they were heavily based. I had hoped they same group would've done a WWI game, but they never got around to it.

The beauty of Blue Max is it very simple to record your move as you only had to choose your option and write that down. With the online version, it's even easier

And yes, I'd love to see altitude as an option to be included too.

I've been playing Wings of Glory with my kids and wife lately. It dawned on me that WoG is kind of simplified miniatures version of BM.

Thing both series have in common is the hidden moves and tailing idea. I played Richtofen's war as a kid and the hidden moves and tailing was missing in that one and made it into a "I shoot, you shoot" game.

It's a shame on that one - I think it would be easy to introduce hidden moves and tailing into that game. If you did that I wonder how it would compare with BM an CE.
