Air Force and Dauntless were great games, and I spent many hours playing them (remember Hans?) Avalon Hill republished the games a few years later and made the plane charts almost unreadable, but ever so much more colorful!
Ah. It's the colourful version I have. And it's still twenty years ago!
Drifting off subject; did anyone ever play Ace of Aces? A game with paired books showing the view from the cockpit of your plane. You select your manoeuvre from a row at the bottom, and cross referencing with the opponent's choice, you end up on a different page, with a different view. Top game.
