The hit was supposed to be a blue one, but the blue chit I was shown said "Rudder jams. Must do Right maneuvers for 3 turns. 1 tail." even though that should only be on a red chit. I didn't take any damage though, nor was my choice of maneuver limited in any way.
What a weird bug. I hope the database still has enough information on that turn for it to be fixed.
That's been reported before. There's actually no such chit in the original game. One earlier poster said it was a conversion of a blue engine chit to tail chit damage when making no deflection tail shots, though I don't recall that particular conversion from the original board game version I played once upon a time.
