Take a look at game 24043. Turn 68. Caesar started aiming at the hull for some reason. It is out of Hull range. Back to normal now (taking rigging shots).
Only thing I see different is that in the previous turn, a critical hit was scored against Caesar. It's a bug but only on the log. If you see, Caesar would not able to fire anyway (neither at hull nor rigging) since it had -4 Crewloss penalty as a result of losing one more crew section after turn 67 hits. So it did not matter whether it was firing at the hull or rigging and the log just reported hull as a default (which is wrong but does not change the result).
However, during that turn Caesar suffered 1 gun damage, so it went down in the firing table from 19-21 guns to 16-18 guns. Ships with 16-18 guns have only -1 crew loss prenalty for each section, so the modifier was now only -2 crewloss (-1*2 sections) and Caesar was able to fire again next turn. |
