The original was set up with advanced ships. The original Battle of Lake Erie did not need to be increased when the other scenarios were.
When you create an Advanced game, the scenario stats are automatically adjusted (twice hull, twice crew, etc.). So, as Battle of Lake Eire has been created already with Advanced rules in mind, it has too much high stats on both Simplified/Basic games and Advanced games (as stats are automatically increased even further in this latter case).
To fix this situation, I could have "halved" base scenario stats, so that they would be at the right levels both on Simpl./Basic games and on Advanced games (were they would be doubled again to the usual levels).
However, on the main site everybody has always played Batlle of Lake Eire with Basic Rules + "Double Stats". Adjusting Battle of Lake Eire to the correct levels would make it a "different scenario" / gaming experience. To keep this "scenario we are used to", I have decided not to "fix" Battle of Lake Eire scenario but to keep it and create a different scenario instead, called of Battle of Lake Eire (Historical), where the stats are now corrected to what they should be according to the rulebook. |
